The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

SDPB won't air this on TV

My friend Bob H. Miller is an artist in Rapid City who gravitates to producing disturbing images. He did a series based on paint splats caused by shooting bags of paint in front of a canvas. Charles Michael Ray prepared a 6-minute video featuring Miller's work. SDPTV won't air it, although the film is available on its website.

This all seems quite weird to me. Especially in light of the program "Rock Garden Tour," which is a waste of an hour (maybe two or three hours, counting reruns) of radio time each week. Even "From the Top" on Sunday afternoon is better. Even Krista Tippett, with her "spacious conversations about the big questions at the center of human life" is better.

Even my conversation on Dakota Midday with that little prick Larry Long back in 2008 was better.
