The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Consequences of state-sanctioned xenophobia

Someone I know very well is an artist in glass sculpture. She told me today that the Glass Art Society, probably the largest world-wide trade organization for the calling, has cancelled its plans to hold its annual conference in Tucson in 2011.

"We have many members of Hispanic heritage, and we have heard from many of them that they don't feel comfortable attending a conference in Arizona due to Arizona's recent adoption of a state law that appears to target people who may appear to have possibly come from Mexico."

An alternative site for the G.A.S. convention will be announced soon.

If they are in the United States legally, they should have no problem attending any event in Arizona. That is, unless they think lawlessness is a good idea...

Been to RentBoys.com recently, Bob?

Pssst. Hey Newland, I think ur a post off with your rent boys! You bring an important post "Columbia Mo Swat" and next you minimize your credibility throwing rentboys.com at Ellis in an unrelated post. Are you kind of hung, on the rent boy thing Bob?

Hung? Yes.

Credibility? Uh.....

Ellis? My credibility measure.

Good eye, Newland.

C'mon, Les: Just the image of crosshairs on Bob E's ample re-buttal brings mirth.

Bob, you give me a smile when I see you use hung and credibility? in the same post. You're not talking like Jack McCall are you? I heard he was hung too.

Larry, I'm no good on those kind's of images.

The two Bob's are trailblazers.
Ellis predictable.
Newland a loose cannon.

Leaders need both traits with predictability being dominant.

Jack McCall was hanged. There is no historical record of which I am aware that addresses whether he was hung or not.

It has been said, I hung my little brother on a coat hook. Lucky for the little bugger he survived that hanging to be hung, hung again and hanged, if life might have that for him.

I hope you havn't spent serious time on McCall's historical record Wayne, changes in declension aren't worth it.

Wayne, Jack McCall's nickname was "Big Nose Jack." You think they were talking about his breathing apparatus?
