The folks over at reason.com have an interesting little tidbit about the folks in Chicago who made the decision to outlaw handguns for their citizens. You can read it here.
I suppose nobody should be surprised elected officials who banned handguns in Chicago don't think the law applies to them. They don't think election laws apply to them either.
