Heading for the wilderness
Tomorrow morning, Loy and I are heading for Northport WA, where our friends Doug and Deborah, live. We'll be back in about a week. Maybe I'll send some photos of the Columbia River in flood stage.
I lived in NW Washington for a year doing an internship. I was in the foothills of the Cascades. They, and the Olympics, have to be the most gorgeous mountains in North America. OMG. Truly breathtaking around every turn. Whenever I had spare time, I hiked in the Cascades, or ferried over to Rialto Beach on the Olympic peninsula. It's been nearly 20 years since then. I miss it every day.
