Hugo Chavez died.

Hugo Chavez, the recently deceased president of Venezuela, was a juvenile bully familiar to watchers of politics south of us in the western hemisphere.

But I have a soft spot in my heart for a national leader who referred to the smell of sulphur on the stage of the United Nations after George W. Bush spoke there.
