The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

We Interrupt Newland's Non-Campaign...

For a brief message about a tree-hugging (actually cattail hugging) group called Ducks Unlimited.

Those of you who have known me for many years will remember that I was once very involved in the local chapter of DU. Press of time has prevented me from much participation in DU events in recent years.

Regardless of what you think about guns, and hunting and hunting pretty flying waterfowl, no organization anywhere has done more to conserve, restore and protect waterfowl habitat than Ducks Unlimited.

The Buffalo Chip Shooting Complex is having a DU event this coming Saturday. If you're interested in wetlands conservation I urge you to attend. You can learn more here.

If you've never attended a DU event, you won't regret going. If you have, you've never attended one where you can participate in a 50-clay Blast on a world-class sporting clay range.

Check it out. Go if you can. You'll have a great time and it's a great cause.
