Some stuff I've never seen

Cheyenne River south of Eagle Butte Monday, Mar. 15.

I've never seen a river right at the time the ice goes out. And I'll bet not many people have seen a river where the ice has jammed up against the more stationary ice on the lake it's entering, which is what's happening here.

The river is flowing, but the surface is static, even though the ice is broken into individual floes.

  1. Bob,

    Those are some amazing pictures.

I lament that I do not get out into nature as often as I would like. That is usually where I do my best thinking and reflection.

  2. I am not sure that I would call a drive to Mobridge and back "getting out into nature."
