In these days of social media, it's hard to say, you know? Not sure if it was ever broadcast on traditional broadcast media (paid radio airtime) or not. Probably not because of FCC rules on content, huh?
I remember when we couldn't use the word "gambling" on the radio, or the radio station would lose its license.
We made a pretty good radio spot out of that idea.
Back in my newspaper days, frustrated folks on the copy desk dreamed of publishing their "farewell" edition,in which profanity would be inserted in every story. Over the years, of course, some folks actually did accidentally allow profanity onto the pages.
Sometimes it's unintentional. I headlined a story years ago without seeing the photo that accompanied it. The story was about a mysterious goose kill in Pierre where hundreds of geese were dying apparently of lead which had been ingested into their bodies, rather than the usual perforation method.
I did not see the final product until it rolled off the press. The headline was "Goose Disaster Possible" and the photo was a shot from the rear of a GF&P officer bending over to pick up a dead goose.
It made it into several editing textbooks around the country.
