From the Rapid City Journal...
An Internet ad helped Rapid City police catch seven men allegedly willing to pay for sex on Thursday.
Police used a local motel to conduct the prostitution enforcement operation, according to police spokeswoman Tarah Heupel.
“This was part of an ongoing effort to stem prostitution,” Heupel said. A similar operation last October ended up with four arrests.
Officers issued citations to Gene King, 33, Sturgis, Clifford Dower, 58, Lead, Ricky Woods, 50, Custer, and Gabriel Olson, 31, and Michael Fischer, 43, both of Rapid City. All were released and ordered to appear in court.
Jason Newman, 31, of Rapid City and Thomas Steele, 47, of Black Hawk were arrested for marijuana possession and cited for hiring for sexual activity.
Hiring for sexual activity is a Class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
Apparently the cops got to those guys before they actually became hardened criminals.
