The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Do you think he looks pious enough?

A few years ago, while Howie was still a state senator, he told me he couldn't support legal medical use of cannabis. He said cannabis was too destructive. I asked how it was destructive. He wouldn't answer, but he did say:
"I'll tell you what. If I had a medical condition that could only be treated with marijuana, I'd just go out and get some. If I got caught, I'd deal with it then."
The images above were stolen from the Rapid City Journal.

If you just pray hard enough, squinch your eyes up really really tight, and do it in front of people, your prayers will come true, right, Gordon?

Both of you have it wrong. The words don't match the picture at all. Howling Howie obviously has a significant bowel obstruction and is asking if someone has a "trans rectal device" with at least a quart capacity.

My dog Pete made that same face before we took him to the vet.

Unrelated, Bob if this was even just one year ago I would have been beating your door down for the chance to testify in front of a committee. I have the medical records to back up what my condition is, and has been since birth. I know longer travel unless I have to because it just hurts to damn much, and I don't know what condition I'm going to be in when I get there.

If you can do it find a way to add both Belinda and my name to your list. Navigating my way around the net isn't as easy as it used to be.

For public postures of piety obviously posed for photographs by the Rapid City Christian Journal, the current fashion is open arms with palms facing skyward. The more traditional folded hands has fallen into disfavor and is considered insufficiently ostentatious.
