I just kinda liked these, although they weren't new birds for me. The robin was shot from about 30-40 feet. Less enlargement, obviously more detail than the junco, shot at around 100 feet. Of course, the robin is wll-lit, while the junco is in shadow. That makes a huge difference, of course, in sharpening the details, like the robin's feathers.
Mallards, I believe, mate for life, so there are lots of Sunday afternoons (and Mondays, and Tuesdays, and...) spent paddlin' around together with the best-friend couple. They always spot me before I see them, and they always head the other direction, like they don't trust me.
