The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Happy Independence Day

The Declaration of Independence contains a list of complaints against the king of England, one of which is:

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

If that was a problem then, simply replace "He" with "Our current government," and think about it. Hoo-boy!

Actually you would replace "He has" with "We have."

As in "We the people."

Government is no longer separate from "us" as it was with the King across the pond.

It is now precisely just US (U.S.) swimming in our own self-made swamp.

Want to blame somebody Bob?

Hold up a mirror... and don't forget to look into it yourself from time to time.

I didn't create the "swamp." Maybe you did, in which case I blame you. Want to take credit? If not, I'll just go on blaming the politicians for whose tenure I can take no credit.

Call for a General Strike, Bob. Flash mob the cop shop, the Attorney General's office. Brenner's girl friends' houses...flood the system with the disenfranchised. Publish your solutions.

Here is your Montana/Colorado equivalent. He's brilliant, but he has no solutions.

The only things we can change are the things we own, Bob. If everyone else is to blame, you have given all your power away.

Federal employment is at the lowest level per capita since the 1950s. Now we contract out our harassment -- because it's said it is more "efficient".

(More politically efficient, more like it!)
