Look at the explosion in government programs since the last shutdown in 1995. Homeland security, tarp bailouts, tarp watchdogs, stimulus programs, stimulus watchdogs, two wars on borrowed money and a third for one for charms sake.
Rep. Ryan wants to cut spending to 2008 levels, I say 1958 levels.
