Ward 3 May Have Contest

I've been told that someone picked up petitions today and will have the required signatures to be placed on the ballot for Ward 3 City Council. If true, not only will Rapid City Ward 3 voters have a choice, but they will have an excellent alternative to the currently-announced career bureaucrat candidate.

I don't want to rain on the new face's parade. But, the guy has a significant record of success in the private sector, served in the Navy and was at one time the HR director for a very large company with more than 1000 employees. He'll bring a wealth of valuable experience to the job and is an excellent choice. I'll let you all know when its confirmed that he's running.

This is great news. I have nothing against Mr. Wright personally - we have some mutual friends that say he is a good guy.

Nonetheless, and let me be very clear - this guy failed to report a massive crime against the Rapid City taxpayers. If you read the articles linked to on Sam Kooiker's webpage, you will have to come to the only possible conclusion - the city was ripped off and Wright failed to tell the police about it. I'm sorry but this failure to report was wrong:
