The life of an artist...

Here are three photos I printed today for people who ordered them at sturgis.com.

I love the framing on that first shot. Do you get a lot of sales or it is one of those things that you do for fun and a little bit of pocket money?

I shot about 40000 images during the Rally (9 days). I have processed about 100 orders since the Rally, have about 100 waiting, with about 20 coming in per day. At about $20 per order.

For a few weeks, it's a pretty major cash flow source. I have bills waiting.

Fun? yes. Pocket money? It's all I ever have, if I have any.

That's some pretty solid sales. I know that shooting on spec can be pretty dicey at times. It's tough to get people on the website to order most of the time.

I guess when you get that high of a volume, it can make up for the low percentages!

I would like to do more projects like the Rally, but I can't think of any other event that would present the market that the Rally does.
