The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Dry spell

It appears that Sanborn and I both ran into walls a week ago; the last post was last Saturday. I took a road trip to evaluate the customer experience in various businesses from Rapid City to Belle Fourche, Spearfish, Moorcroft, Gillette, Wright, Sheridan, Crow Agency, Billings, Miles City, Baker, Glendive, Dickinson and Hettinger.

The verdict? Everyone everywhere says, "Have a nice day," which I think is something akin to saying, "I hope you have a slow painful death starting about ten minutes from now." But then again, it probably means, "I don't care enough about you to even wish you a slow painful death."

This business I'm in is probably not good for my mental health. I evaluated McDonald's in Rapid City yesterday. The folks in the stores are fine, just tryin' to make a living. The people who devise the online reports I have to file for McDonald's mystery shops are cynical deviant sociopaths.

Not that I think readers of this blog, if there are any left, care about what I think of McDonald's.
