The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Well, that's a wrap. Nice work Barack.

Did everybody watch Obama address Congress tonight?

I'm thinking, if they had enough cameras running, there will be some pretty good ads coming out of that footage, come election time.

Let's just say I wouldn't want to be captured on video sitting on that side of the aisle where all those stuffed shirts with their long faces were sitting there on their hands — not clapping. Especially when Obama said, "no one should go broke because they get sick."

And that crazy fart knocker from Carolina who shouted out "liar"?

Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

I wonder how many good American voters are gonna line up behind that kind of Tea Bag behavior?

Anyway, see ya at the polls boys.

p.s. Ok, ok, click here for a little more objective review of the nights activities, rhetorically speaking (...wait, was that last phrase redundant?).

Wasn't Obama using fear-mongering after his partisan accusation that his opponents were using scare tactics? Like you said Bill, we can get sick and go broke. Sounds like fear-mongering to me.

No, Sibby, it's not.

Fear mongering is when you make stuff up.

Oh, wait, I forgot.

You can't tell the difference.

Never mind.

The guy who shouted out has apologized and Obama accepted. Now for the facts. Obama says no illegal will get coverage. What he fails to mention ever is that he plans to have all the illegals given amnesty and be legal by the time this thing kicks in in 2013 (why the delay BTW if it is so important to get passed immediately, but that is another topic) so actually it won't cover illegals because they will be legal. Oh the wonders of a little dance around the truth. And also, there is nothing in the bill that makes anyone prove citizenship to obtain services, so actually the shouter was correct also.

And the abortion thing is a lie too. He said no federal funds will be used for abortions; just how does he plan to launder fed money to make it look non-fed? Abortion is in the bill because there is nothing in the bill preventing it.

There was much smoke and mirrors in that speech last night. And again this morning Obama spoke in front of the American Nurses Ass'n, implying that they are in agreement with him. Actually only a fraction of the nurses in the US belong to this organization, so again an illusion of support.

People are smarter now when it comes to politics. They look behind, under, over, and thru words and seek the truth. Somethign that DC politicians must find frightening!

Yes, senior. And some people are especially good at hallucinating bogey men that aren't really there.

So senior citizen shows the President is making things up and was fear mongering when he said:

"Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close. More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result."

More of the above will happen if Obama has his way. And that was after he said:

"But what we have also seen in these last months is the same partisan spectacle that only hardens the disdain many Americans have toward their own government. Instead of honest debate, we have seen scare tactics."

Both Fleming and Obama need a mirror when they make accusations that describes themselves.

Well, as usual, Stevie, Obama has something going for his argument that you and your cohorts don't for yours.

Evidence.

My interest in this blog really weakens when this becomes the standard for debate.

I hear you Les. The lesson being, "don't believe everything you think."

Guilty as charged.

There is a different lesson for each and every inquiring mind. Our minds can be a confusing place at times Bill!

Amen to that, Les!
