Taunia, Taunia, Taunia

There are certain criteria to becoming a well rounded person. There upon my shelf, among my favorite movies and books are the very ones of which Bill speaks in his post below. Every Star Wars movie. And the Tolkien Trilogy off there to the right.

There they are among my favorite movies:
Schindler's List, Harvey, Citizen Cane, To Kill a Mockingbird, How To Get A Head In Advertising, Children of a Lesser God, Stand By Me, Ed Wood, A River Runs Through It, Scent of a Woman, Gran Torino, Capote, The Complete Godfather Series, The Manchurian Candidate, Dr. Strangelove, My Cousin Vinny, The Producers, The Green Mile, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Hunt for Red October, Finding Forrester, Bikini Drive-in, Monte Python's The Holy Grail, Good Night and Good Luck and Standing in the Shadow of Motown.

All worthy of your attention Taunia. All worthy.

I have seen every one of these movies, except How to Get Ahead in Advertising, Bikini Drive-in (?!) and Standing in the Shadow of Motown.

Might I also add, that in order to become a well rounded person, that more must-sees/reads include:

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Dances with Wolves
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
A Civil Action
Lonesome Dove
American Beauty
Judgment at Nuremburg
Slumdog Millionaire
Braveheart
The African Queen
The Firm
Casablanca
Shawshank Redemption
Million Dollar Baby
Gone With the Wind
V for Vendetta
Philadelphia
Children of Men
The Sixth Sense

More will come to me....

(but Star Wars doesn't come to mind)

Rather than "How to Get A Head in Advertising," isn't it "How to Get Some....?"

Taunia!

Thanks for noting the Bikini Drive-in. I threw that one in to see if anyone was reading.

No quarrel with your list as I have most of them and agree wholeheartedly. Don't know how I missed Shawshank Redemption, which is my favorite of all time.

Adding to the list...

12 Angry Men
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
A Christmas Story
The Princess Bride
Fantasia
The Razor's Edge
Operation Petticoat
Father Goose
To Be or Not To Be
Cinderella Man
Cool Hand Luke
The Sting
A Time To Kill
Good Will Hunting
Last of the Mohicans
Fargo
Raising Arizona
Used Cars
Harold & Maude
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid
Animal House
Ragtime
Some Like It Hot
Good Morning Vietnam
The Paper
The Rock
Crimson Tide
The Front Page

I'm sure I've missed a few...

FYI: How To Get Ahead In Advertising is a brilliant British comedy produced by Beatle George Harrison. It really appeals to those of us in the advertising business.

Standing in the Shadow of Motown is the documentary on the Funk Brothers who played on more #1 hits than the Stones, the Beatles The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley...combined. If you like R&B, it's a must.
