The whole point of free speech is not to make ideas exempt from criticism but to expose them to it.

Ok, I don't have the Health Plan together quite yet, but I do have the Name.

I'm growing ever more convinced that somewhere the articles we've been reviewing (here and here) and in the Frankenfeld proposal we discussed a while back, the right plan for Health in America is emerging. It has to be short, and it has to be sweeping in its vision and execution. A comprehensive overhaul, far beyond today's status quo.

I think it can be done in 5 steps, to address the five most pressing problems.

We'll call it the United States' Assured Health Initiative in 5 Sections

The acronym will thus be USA Hi 5s.

In short, let's drop all the "ObamaCare" business.

We ALL need to take ownership in this thing.

(Hey, what can I tell ya, I'm a packaging guy.)

I totally agree. I think it's funny that PP and other conservative bloggers/talking heads have talked about how Obama is abandoning 'Obamacare'. But in reality (i.e., not fantasyland) Obama has been pushing for what you are suggesting: a healthcare system for and by the American people. He isn't backing away from anything, he's doing exactly what he said he would do.

It's funny how they make stuff up, and then get all in a frenzy when reality doesn't conform to their fantasy, isn't it?

I can just see people showing up to the hospital, and giving the doctor a 'hi 5' lol.
