Iranian Students

By Bill Fleming
Well?

Are they heroes or what?

I spent the weekend on Twitter
watching a revolution go down,
inspired out of my skull and yes,
brokenhearted as I watched
and remembered Kent State
in another time and place.

"Tin soldiers and Nixon comin'
We're finally on our own,
This summer I hear the drummin'
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting us down,
Shoulda been done long ago.

What if you knew her and
Saw her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?"

From "Ohio" by Neil Young

But enough from me.

I want to know what you think.

  1. Great time for music that was inspired by politics. Don't see that much anymore.

The Iranian students are heros. I fear that the Iranian government will be much more ruthless than the Ohio National Guard. Sickening, nevertheless.

  2. One thing I suppose we can count on is that there will be at least two comments on every post.

Nice work, Bill. Two things about it sadden me.

We taught the Iranians how to suppress dissent.

There are many who still believe the National Guard was justified in what it did at Kent State. A few of them post regularly at Blogmore.
