Alright then, no more complaining.

Bitch, bitch, bitch. Government this, congress that, judicial activists blah blah blah. But when it comes time to actually do something about it, Forumpians, only a very few of us are even interested, judging by the Sabato poll at right. Oh well. We'll just have to leave it to the next generation, I guess. Meanwhile, bitch, bitch, bitch... ad infinitum.

    The constitution is pretty much okay as it is. A constitutional convention would destroy it.

    The main problem is that legislatures and judges ignore the constitution at will. Even if a new convention were to improve the constitution (not likely), it would be useless unless the courts adhered to it.

    Perhaps they ignore it because it a lot of it doesn't make sense anymore. Have you read Sabato's book, Bob?

    But I know the legislatures and courts don't ignore the constitution because it doesn't make sense. They ignore it for the very reason that it makes sense.

    The fourth amendment has been thrown in the trashcan by the courts and legislatures.
